Aimé is probably my favourite clothes store in London.
I discovered the store in Redchurch Street by chance, after a lunch at Albion Cafe.
It’s simple, I like everything about this store: the brands, the presentation and the staff!
The story of Aimé started in 1999 with 2 French Cambodian sisters who were missing many of their favourite Parisian labels and decided to rectify this situation by opening their own store in Ledbury Road, Notting Hill.
The concept was a multi brand store showcasing the best in French fashion. This is how Aimé became the first store in London to introduce Isabel Marant’s collections!
Over the years, the selection has widened but has remained refined.
It now also includes British, Spanish and Italian designers such as Paloma Blue, Star Mela, Masscob, Manuela de Juan, Forte Forte, Faliero Sarti…
Alongside the clothes, Aimé also sells jewels, accessories and small decoration objects such as candles and vases.
In 2013, Aimé went to the conquest of the East and opened a 2nd store in Redchurch Street, Shoreditch.
It’s the only one I’ve been yet. But I know that the store in Ledbury Road, which is much bigger, just reopened after refurbishment so it might be a good excuse to pay it a visit soon!
Last time I went to Aimé, I had a crush on the Manuela de Juan sandals. I finally bought the coral ones but the choice was extremely difficult!
And I think that I won’t resist long before I come back to buy a Paloma Blue pair of shorts!
As written on its website and to sum up, “Aimé is a little pocket of Paris in London where you will find a fashion fix, a gift for a friend or something for your home”.
